2025 Policy & Fee Updates at Dryad Counseling

At Dryad Counseling, I strive to provide care that is not only affirming and effective—but also sustainable and transparent. As part of my annual policy review, a few key changes will go into effect starting July 1, 2025. These updates apply to all clients who have had a session or consultation with Dryad Counseling in the past 12 months.

Updated Therapy Session Rate

Beginning July 1, 2025, the standard fee for a 60-minute therapy session will be $135.

This rate increase primarily affects self-pay clients and those who use out-of-network insurance benefits. Clients whose sessions are billed directly to their insurance should not see much in the way of changes to their benefit coverage.

This update is part of a routine annual fee review that takes into account the time, training, and clinical preparation involved in offering consistent, high-quality care.

New Cancellation & No-Show Fee

Starting July 1, 2025, a $50 fee will apply to any session that is missed or canceled without communication at least one hour in advance.

Please note:

  • Cancellations must be made by email or text message. Voicemails are not regularly monitored and will not count as valid notice.

  • Outstanding fees must be paid before your next scheduled session. If payment has not been received at least 24 hours in advance, the next session will be canceled and removed from the calendar.

  • I understand that life happens—emergencies and unavoidable circumstances will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Scheduling, Waitlist, and Availability

Therapy availability may change over time due to clinical, academic, and personal responsibilities. I will always make a reasonable effort to inform clients of any changes that affect their typical session time, though advance notice cannot always be guaranteed.

If you’re booking online and would like an earlier appointment, you can opt into the waitlist by checking the appropriate box during scheduling.

Session Timing & Format

Sessions are scheduled for 60 minutes, though most run between 53 and 60 minutes depending on clinical pacing and therapeutic focus. Shorter session lengths are available, though are generally only offered if need or timing warrants it.

Dryad Counseling remains a telehealth-only practice, offering virtual care to clients in both Ohio and Massachusetts.

Sliding Scale and Billing

Dryad Counseling does not currently offer a sliding scale. All rates are reviewed annually and set to balance sustainability, accessibility, and clinical integrity.

If you have any questions about billing, out-of-network paperwork, or insurance reimbursements, you’re always welcome to reach out.

Consent Forms and Documentation

All updated policies are reflected in my current informed consent paperwork. No new consent is required unless you specifically request updated documentation for your records.

Questions? Ready to Get Started?

If you are a current client, these changes go into effect starting July 1, 2025. You also should have received an email outlining these updates.

If you are a new client interested in starting therapy, you can schedule a consultation or reach out by email. I work primarily with adults seeking support around trauma, neurodivergence, LGBTQ+ identity, and major life transitions. I’d be glad to connect and see if we’re a good fit.
