Important Updates at Dryad Counseling

At Dryad Counseling, LLC (DC), we want to keep you informed about upcoming changes that may affect your services. Please take a moment to review these updates, which will take effect over the next year.

Insurance Changes (Effective September 1, 2025)

Starting September 1, 2025, Dryad Counseling will no longer accept new clients for Ohio Medicaid and related plans, including:

• Buckeye Health Plan

• Ambetter by Buckeye Health

• CareSource

• CareSource Marketplace

Dryad Counseling has made this difficult decision due to systemic challenges with these plans, including administrative burdens and low reimbursement rates that impact the sustainability of the practice.

For Massachusetts clients: Dryad Counseling is not electing to enroll in MassHealth plans at this time. DC will only accept insurance plans available through Headway for Massachusetts clients or those using their Out of Network benefits.

What Does This Mean for You?

• For established clients who are on these plans, nothing will change while you are an active client.

• Clients already using out-of-network benefits or commercial insurance through Headway will not experience any changes.

• All other clients may choose to opt out at any time or work with their provider to review progress and discuss continued care.

• Former clients under these plans are not eligible to return for services while enrolled in Ohio Medicaid.

We recognize this shift may create challenges, and we’re here to support you through the transition. If needed, we can help you find another provider, provide treatment records and if you need a referral or letter to assist in accessing services with a new provider, we can provide this for up to 6 months after your last session.

Changes to Late Cancellation & No-Show Policies

We’re keeping flexible cancellation policies, but missed sessions will no longer be reviewed for waivers in non-emergency cases.

• You will still have up to an hour before the session to cancel without penalty. DC sends out multiple reminders for sessions scheduled 48 hours or more in advance.

• If you miss a session without notifying us at least 1 hour in advance, a $50 fee will be charged to the payment method on file.

• No charge will be applied if a session is missed due to a technical issue that cannot be resolved or if the provider needs to reschedule.

Changes in Session Availability

Due to scheduling adjustments, starting after August 31, 2025:

• Afternoon Sessions will be limited to Wednesdays and Fridays

• Evening Sessions will be available to schedule online Monday-Friday.

• Consultations will only be available to schedule online on Friday Afternoons.

• Online Scheduling has been updated to reflect new availability. This does not affect already scheduled appointments.

Your Rights & Next Steps

• You have the right to decline these policy changes and discontinue services at any time.

• If you have questions or concerns, feel free to email or discuss them during your session.
