Privacy, Access, and Practice Updates for 2026
At Dryad Counseling, the integrity of the therapeutic relationship is my highest priority. This relationship is built on a foundation of trust, confidentiality, and mutual respect. As we move into the spring and summer of 2026, several industry-wide changes and personal milestones are prompting a shift in how I deliver care.
I am sharing these updates openly to ensure that both current and prospective clients have the information needed to make the best decisions for their privacy and their health.
1. Prioritizing Your Digital Privacy
Recently, Headway—the insurance billing platform I utilize—has begun implementing new identity verification requirements. These include mandatory government ID uploads and live biometric facial scanning processed by a third-party verification partner. While this is currently rolling out to specific service tiers, it is expected to apply to all clients on that platform in the future.
While the platform remains HIPAA-compliant, I recognize that many individuals have valid concerns regarding the collection and storage of biometric data. I believe you should have a choice in how your data is shared. To protect your privacy, I am formally offering a "Privacy-First" track:
Insurance Track: You may continue using the Headway platform by completing their required verification steps.
Out-of-Network Track: You may opt out of third-party biometric scanning by moving to direct billing via Square. I provide a monthly "Superbill" on my last working day of each month, which you can submit to your insurance provider for potential reimbursement. This keeps your biometric data and ID out of third-party verification systems.
2. Expanding Access: The "Access" Tier
To ensure that the transition to private billing doesn't create a barrier to care, I am introducing a Financial Capacity system starting June 1st. Clients opting out of insurance platforms or not seeking reimbursement may select a rate that fits their current household budget:
Tier 1 ($125/session): Designed for those who can prioritize a consistent monthly investment in their mental health.
Tier 2 ($100/session): A hardship-protected rate reserved for those with significant financial constraints (limited spots available).
Note: Current clients already enrolled in a reduced-rate agreement will not be required to complete a new agreement until their current one expires.
3. Schedule & Rate Adjustments
As I move into the advanced stages of my doctoral training, my schedule and rates will undergo a permanent shift to accommodate clinical residency requirements:
Evening Schedule: Starting June 1st, I will begin transitioning to an evening schedule (Monday–Friday). Sessions will be held between 6:00 PM and 9:00 PM. Limited afternoon sessions will remain available during the transition month of June.
Rate Adjustment: The practice’s standard clinical fee for 60-minute sessions will officially move to $150.00 on July 1st, 2026.
Work With Me
I am currently accepting a limited number of new clients seeking a clinical space that prioritizes data privacy and expert, specialized care. My practice focuses on high-functioning adults navigating complex trauma, identity, and life transitions.
